Plan your trip
Hoshino Resorts Tomamu is the easiest big Hokkaido resort to reach by train — JR Tomamu Station is at the resort base, and every limited-express stops there. Two skyscraper hotels, a wave pool, and the famous Sea of Clouds gondola.
Long-haul gateways and the cheapest domestic hops.
New Chitose is Hokkaido's main international gateway. Tomamu is also accessible from Asahikawa (AKJ) for shorter approaches.
Tokyo Haneda → Sapporo (CTS) ~1.5 hrs; multiple departures every hour on ANA, JAL, Air Do, Peach, and Jetstar.
Trains, shuttles, and rentals from the airport.
Most guests use the rail link instead of a coach. Direct CTS coaches to Tomamu are limited; train is faster.
Hand-picked stays across the resort's two zones.
Two interconnected Hoshino Resorts hotels — The Tower (mid-range, families) and Risonare Tomamu (luxury suites).
Two-tower 535-room hotel — the original Tomamu hotel, family-friendly, includes lift pass with most packages.
All-suite luxury sister hotel — every room is 100+ m² with in-room bath. Adults-and-couples leaning, includes Sea of Clouds gondola.
Pass, lessons, gear, and guides for powder days.
Adult 1-day ¥6,000 at the window in 2025–26 — among the cheapest premium-resort passes in Japan.
Resort-run school with English-speaking instructors at the central base.
Full gear at the Tomamu base — skis, boards, clothing, helmets — bundled into many Hoshino packages.
Pre-dawn Sea of Clouds gondola (winter weather permitting), plus Tokachidake and Sahoro side-country guides.
Onsen soaks and rest-day excursions nearby.
On-resort: indoor wave pool, the seasonal Ice Village (Dec–Mar), and the Sea of Clouds Terrace cafe.
Forest-set Kirin-no-Yu onsen, free for hotel guests. Tokachidake Onsen at 1,280 m elevation is 90 min by car.
Cover, connectivity, and bag forwarding before you fly.
Activate before you fly. ~$10–15 for 7 days vs $35–60 for pocket WiFi.

destination resort
A quieter corner of Niseko United, anchored by two ski-in ski-out hotels and the same consistent powder that draws the world to Mt Annupuri.

powder-focused
The westernmost face of Mt Annupuri — mellower lifts, easier access to the gate-managed backcountry, and noticeably thinner crowds than Hirafu.

powder-focused
A powder bowl and hooded-quad tree runs on the north face of Annupuri, shared with the Park Hyatt — cold, consistent, and often the least crowded of the four Niseko United areas.
